What we measure, and what we don't
There is nothing to sign up for here, so there is no account, no profile and no password. You can read every page of this site without telling us anything.
The one counter
We run a single self-hosted analytics counter (Umami) to see which pages are read. It sets no cookies and does not follow you between sites. For each visit it records the page address, the referring site if there is one, and a coarse country, browser and device type derived on the fly. Visitor IP addresses are not stored.
What is not here
No advertising and no ad network. No affiliate links. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no embedded social widgets, no consent wall — because there is nothing to consent to. The analytics script and the address it reports to are both served from this domain, so nothing on the page calls out to a third party.
Pictures in the newsroom come from the publisher
A newsroom entry shows a publisher's own headline, their summary and their picture — and the picture is linked, not copied: your browser fetches it from that publisher's own server, which therefore sees the request. We send no referrer with it, so they are not told which page of ours you were reading, but the request itself is theirs to log. Following a headline out takes you to their site, where their rules apply, not ours. Every source we read is named on the register.
Logs
The web server keeps ordinary access logs — address requested, time, status, user agent — for operating and defending the site, and rotates them. They are not joined to the analytics counter and are not used to build any profile.
Asking us something
Write to contact@sportaurus.com — corrections to a figure, a licence question, or a request to take a picture down. A publisher who would rather we did not link their image should say so at that address and we will drop it.
